Said good-bye Sept 16, 2002

I don't even know where or how to begin to express the loss that will be with me. You have been my best friend through some very trying times. You were always there for me ever since I first met you back in 1989. I never will forget the comfort and love you gave me when you, yourself were being abused next door. But the time has come for us to say good-bye, at least for now. Now you can go and be with your best friend-Nipper. Now to tell the story of how you came into our lives and what you gave to me.

Wrinkles lived next door to us when we lived in Valdosta GA. Her owner was very abusive and we were trying to figure our a way to rescue her from him when he decided to move and leave her behind. We really wanted to just take her, but our homes were close and we would have been afraid for her life as well as ours. However we had finally put our plans for rescue place and the owner decided to just walk to FL and abandon her.

Prior to this abandonment, I had back surgery and every day when I would go for my walks she would come over and walk with me. She seemed to realize that she had to be gentle and not jump or get in front of me and she walked right along side of me, protecting me every step of the way. She would follow me up the steps and want to come inside (but with the crazy neighbor, I knew that was not an option)-the greatest day was when I could open the door and say "Welcome". She had many abandonment and security issues that we dealt with on a daily basis. We lovingly call her "Needy". We adopted her in 1989 when she was almost a year old.

She quickly reached out to Nipper for guidance. They became inseperable. In fact, we came up with a joint name for the 2 of you. We called you Nippydink as you 2 were always together. We would buy you seperate beds and you would sleep on one, if you 2 weren't both in our bed.

You got along with all of our kitties, below you are with your new best buddy, MC. He will miss you too as he loved curling up with you and sleeping or just spending time with you. By the way, I did not put them in this position-just caught them with my camera.

Every once in a while a special pet comes into your life. While, we truly love all of our pets, we were blessed to have you, as well as Nipper in our lives. You were like a soul mate, looking into your eyes, filled me with warmth and love. It was hard to say good-bye to Nip, but I knew I had to take care of you for her, since she could no longer look after you. We spoiled you even more. I really dread life without you. But the time has come and I need to let you go. Tell Nip we miss her.

A note, 11 months later, MC, the kitty in the photo is now with you, hopefully you 2 are cuddling again.
