GONE, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!

MC (Mister Cat)

Gosh, I will miss you. You were quite the surprise. Baby, your mom had her litter in our bathtub. She had 4 and I thought she was done. There was a solid charcoal one, a black and white tuxedo, a tortie and a calico. When I woke up in the am here you were, this little ball of white fluff. Where oh where did you come from? You were like our gentle giant until you got sick. You were my office kitty for so long-I dont know what I will do without your constant help in reading e mail (your favorite thing was to sit in front of my computer monitor and block the screen). You also liked to fight with me over whatever food I found myself eating in front of the computer. You were always there to greet me when I came in. You have only been gone for one week and it is so lonesome without you. Stay sweet my gentle kitty.

Born on Mother's Day 1991.
Left us on August 2, 2003

Georgie

Georgie, what can I say, you were our old girl. We adopted you in 1990 from the Humane Society and they said you were already 4 years old. Dad picked you out. You had been declawed and you came home and proceeded to pop the dogs on the nose to show them who was the boss. From that point on, no one argues with you!

Hard to believe that anyone in their right mind could get rid of you. You were definitely one of our favorites and had a very special place in dad's heart.

We thought we had been the fibrosarcoma as you had surgery about 2 1/2 prior to the tumor coming back. We lived on pins and needles for the first year and since it didn't come back we thought maybe we were in the clear. But no such luck.

Said good bye to you Jan. 2003

Cocoa

Cocoa was adopted in 1993 and he was 2 years old when we got him. He was a gorgeous, happy fellow that resembled a bear when he walked as he usually lumbered whenever he moved. He had many affectionate nicknames-Tom called him "Cocoa Bean" and I called him "My Cocoa Puff" or "Honey Bear". He was a great big purr factory that thrived on petting, cuddling and attention.

It was just a year ago Friday that we put sweet Gizzy down. Since then we have lost Jake and Lauren, but in no way was I ever expecting to lose another this soon. Saying good bye to you today (April 19, 1999) was so difficult and we are going to miss you so much. I wish you had told us you were sick. You stay sweet-my sweet Cocoa Puff.

 Jake

We adopted Jake in the spring of 1993. According to the Humane Society she was 5 months old, but the vets and us believed her to be older. She adapted to our family quite nicely and soon became the cat that was always under foot and always wanting into the room with the closed door. She was a big ball of fluff. Originally she was named Cheddar as her coloring resembled cheese remarkably well...but she had this one personality quirk. she would be purring and loving one minute and the next there was this playful, hard nip on your finger...so hence the nickname Jake the Snake. She was also a big cry baby and thus we often went around calling her Baby Jake.

This is so hard losing another one so close to Lauren, I said good-bye to her yesterday morning (November 10th, 1998)

We will miss your constant purring, your kitty-bites and tripping over you at least 50 times a day. Play nice with Lauren at the Bridge and tell Gizzy I think about her every day.

 Lauren

Lauren came to our family in 1994. I had fallen in love with Gizzy and decided to breed Himalayans. I decided against the pure Persian in favor of the Himalayan-the more vocal and fun-loving part of the Persian family. When we bought Lauren, she was definitely not the most attractive, but there was something wonderful about this petite ball of fluff. She got along with all of our other cats-and that is not an easy feat-and she was also a people lover. My attraction for breeding was very short lived-as I had too hard of time parting with the kitties and I feel strongly there are too many unwanted cats/kittens in the world that need a loving home. And besides if I picked Lauren to breed-it shows that my heart was really not into breeding but just into loving cats for who they are.

Last night on Sept. 30, 1998 Lauren left us unexpectedly and crossed Rainbow Bridge. We will miss you and your silly ways.

Tippy

You came to us from the Humane Society in 1993. They really had no idea how old you were but thought around 2. You were so sweet and never started fights with anyone, unless you were in the mood for petting and someone got in your way.

You had the biggest eyes and you knew how to use them to get what you wanted. When we adopted you you had very bad hair with twigs in it. As hard as I tried, I could not do anything with your hair either. You could have been the poster child for "a bad hair day."

When the other cats acted foolish after enjoying catnip, you would just sit there and look at them like they were out of their minds and how could they lower themselves like that.

It was so hard saying good-bye to you on April 23, 2001. We will miss you terribly.

  Spot

Spot wandered into our lives in 1984. He was a stray that had a condition that was causing his mouth to shut permanently. In other words he was on his way to starvation. But he still had enough spunk in him to steal the neighbors' steaks off the grill and get them ready to shoot him. That is when we entered the picture and he had a home until 1996 when he crossed Rainbow Bridge.

Muffin

Muffin was our little hot dog girl. My mother in law fed her hot dogs back in 1983. She was quickly adopted into the family then-actually she adopted us and she was a beloved member of our family until 1995. She joined our family when we lived in Valdosta GA the same place that we found our Spot. Muffin was our daughter's love.

Princess

She was born in March of 1977. She was supposed to be a purebred Schnauzer... obviously something went wrong-not really as she was the perfect little girl. We moved to Germany for 5 years and my parents kept her and she became a very special bond between my dad and me. She crossed Rainbow Bridge in 1988.
