Here are some of our main policies. If you have any questions
or concerns feel free to ask and we will be happy to explain them
to you. Most of them are for your pet's protection, as well as
ours. Just remember that if something goes wrong, your pet cannot
dial 911 or call the vet office or emergency clinic. We pride
ourselves in the quality of service we provide and that means
sticking by our policies. These come from our 9 years of experience
and from our networking with sitters throughout the country. And
please note as stated, we do reserve the right to make exceptions,
which we do from time to time for various reasons.
1. We will not job share the care of
your pets. This is for your pets safety and our protection.
Other people being in your home causes liability and safety issues
for us and possiblity for your pet(s) too
2. We must have permission to obtain vet care from your vet and
the Emergency Clinic.
3. We charge for all pets in the household. Pets are not self-sufficient
and with us they will all get care and TLC.
4. We cannot accept time specific jobs, occasionally we can make
an exception for medical reasons, but this will involve an extra
charge. And even then we cant guarantee an exact time due
to traffic and other circumstances beyond our control. We typically
need plus or minus 1 hour, in other words a 2 hour window.
5. We will not accept loose or chained dogs. We will not let dogs
off leash and they must remain under our control at all times.
6. For those fenced outdoor dogs,
we require gates be locked. They must be secured in their yard.
We also will not accept dogs that live outside contained only
by electronic fencing. Other pets may enter your yard and attack
your dogs and they will not be able to run away. Children and
strangers can also enter your yard and your dogs could injure
a child or a stranger might harm them. Also, occassionally the
fencing can break and some dogs will challenge the fence and run
through it despite the shock they receive.
7. We will not accept biting, aggressive or seriously ill pets.
We reserve the right to require a paid trial visit (or more) with
you in town, if we feel it is necessary for our safety or your
pets health.
8. We require full payment of all first time clients. When you
go away in the future, we do ask that you leave payment for us
to collect at the first visit.
9. We will not leave keys under a mat or lock them in the house
on a final visit. Locking them in the house is for your pet's
protection, in case you were to be delayed in getting home. And
leaving them under the mat poses a safety risk for both us and
you and it also leaves your home vulnerable to theft.
11. It is your responsibility to keep us updated with pertinent
information about vet changes, routine changes, emergency contact
changes and how to reach you.
12. All pets must be seen at least once a day.
13. Rules and fees are subject to change-ample notification will
be given.
14. We reserve the right to make exceptions to policies at our
discretion.
15. We currently are
not charging for the initial interview; however, if you cancel
after the interview, there is a cancellation fee for the time
involved in doing the interview and the paperwork. This fee will
be a minimun of $25.00 or the cost of one visit (whichever is
the greater.) If you are interviewing several sitters, there is
a $15.00 interview fee for our time.
