Bobby gives the Drinkwell
Water Fountain the 2 PAWS Up Award. Mom & Dad gave my kitty
brothers and sisters and me one for Christmas. All of us were
curious about it-some of the others just sit and stare at it without
drinking (sort of like the mom's home water fountain that relieves
stress in humans, or so mom says). At least one of the other cats
takes a bath in it and gets the floor wet in the process, but
now she is a very clean cat, and some of us more intelligent felines
do use it properly and drink filtered watered from it.
The following item was another great find for us kitties, even though it was not intended for us at all. This past Christmas when we got our fountain, Wrinkles, their old arthritic dog, received a heated dog pad (size large-price, expensive). She hates it, but many of the "other" cats fight over the best spot. Actually I have seen 4 1/2 laying on it with others waiting in line. Me, well, since I have long hair, it has to be really cold for me to enjoy it, but some of the older cats use it every day. So it was another nice thing for us kitties but not for Wrinkles and she really needed it.
My mom travels a few times a year
and I think the main purpose of her travels is to find us nice,
new kitty gadgets and things. A few years ago she went to San
Antonio for a pet sitting conference and came home with something
that even I am crazy about. Seems she went shopping at a store
just for cat lovers and found something that totally amazes me.
I had seen them advertised in various cat books that mom has around,
but thought they were just a gimmick. So I was very interested
when she opened it up and popped it in the VCR-And the title says
it all-CAT TV! We all love it. When mom puts it on, there are
at least 8 cats gathered in front of the TV wanting to know where
the popcorn and soda (more like the tuna and catnip) are. Bobby
definitely gives this the 2 PAWS Up Award!
When watching TV,
I often hear chatter about going to a spa and I never understood
what humans saw so enticing about this. Well, one day mom came
home with a big huge box and naturally it was for us kitties-who
else, I might ask! I was excited cause we all like big boxes-but
then I read the label-CAT SPA. Ok, now my interest was peaked.
Once out of the box, I found many ways to enjoy myself. There
were brushes for rubbing my chin on, knobs for massaging and a
special gum massager to help with the plaque to help keep the
dentist away. The only problem with this is that sometimes mom
takes it out of the room to let some of the other cats enjoy it.
The best time to use it is right after she rubs it down with fresh
catnip, grown in our garden. The dried stuff is pretty good, but
I prefer the fresh kind. Oh and multiple cats can enjoy this product
at once. Bobby gives this cat product The 2 PAWS and 2 PURRS UP
Award!
Ok, so it has been a while since I have written about any new products, like I said I am the finicky feline and nothing new has intriqued me in ages. Mom heard about this product for cats with issues or multiple cat households that is supposed to help with an array of problems. I am unsure what to make of Feliway Plug Ins. It seems to have mellowed some of the cats out, but not me-I am above letting anything affect me. What I dislike is that they seem to have helped some of the other kitties lose their timidness. Now they don't all run when I decide it is my time to bully. They don't pick fights but they don't run from me as often which makes me less interested in picking on them. So from my point of view, I guess I am not happy with this product but mom and dad and several of the other cats are.
A few years ago, mom and dad put in a pond under the living room window and stocked it with goldfish. I can't sit still long enough to watch the fish but some of my siblings will sit and look at the garden and the pond for ages. Lizards and spiders and bugs and frogs also can be found if you sit and really watch. Then again, I do so enjoy watching the squirrels that come to play in the front yard.
Mom told me about this kitty client that eats veggies-yucky! Then she brought home some cat grass and everyone tried it so when no one was watching I took a few bites and it was pretty good. Actually, mom needs to keep some handy. Supposedly good for us too-but there is no way I will eat veggies, so uncool and uncat like. Now I can only imagine that some of my siblings would enjoy it as they have no taste. If mom and dad don't watch their coffee cups, Sassy has her head buried in the cup. Talk about poor taste or maybe I should say complete lack of taste. Now a good piece of chicken or tuna pleases several in the household.
Ok, Mom is making me get busy again and write about this litter scoop that she found. Now she doesn't need it for me, cause I am a little dainty boy that does not make big messes-BUT-that is not the case with many of my siblings. I used to think it was funny watching dad and her break litter scoops when scooping up after the other cats-but it began dawning on me, how much money was being spent on the flimsy plastic scoops. One day mom brings home this gigantic metal thing with a wood handle. And believe it or not it is strong enought to scoop out the biggest messes in our boxes. So mom gives this the 2 paws up award.
More will be coming soon.
